5 steps in your Skin care Routine every women over 40 should be doing and the 2 steps you're missing by Fay Jones
Fay Jones skin care tips for women over 40.
1. Exfoliate (1-3 times per week): Scrub dead skin cells off the top layer of your face and neck. Ignoring this can cause larger pores, dry skin, fine lines and wrinkles. Find a wash that has tiny, grain like material, that helps gently scrub away dead skin. Rinse your face with warm water after exfoliating, then add a quick cold rinse to close your pores.
*2. Moisturizing Serum: You can spend hundreds of dollars each year on topical moisturizers that help soften your skin. But if you truly want to give your skin the moisture it needs to maintain elasticity, strengthen collagen and minimize wrinkles and age spots, it's a good idea to increase your levels of Hyaluronic Acid. Layer this serum under your daily moisturizer for best results.
3. Moisturizer: Almost every woman uses a daily moisturizer, in fact you're probably thinking about yours right now. Here are a few tips when choosing your moisturizer; If you have very dry skin purchase an ointment that contains oil to help deeply penetrate your skin. If you have oily skin try using a lotion because these tend to be less greasy than other moisturizers. Lastly, for sensitive skin avoid fragrances and dyes that can cause a bad reaction to your skin.
*4. Vitamin C Serum: Vitamin C is one ingredient every skin type needs. Cosmetic chemist Ni'Kita Wilson says, "[Vitamin C] brightens, protects against sun damage, and promotes collagen production." Vitamin C Serum can provide a power antioxidant that is essential to helping aged skin.
5. Sunscreen: Protection, the last step in your routine. UV exposure is a huge cause of dry, wrinkled, and cracking skin. You can avoid this by finding a quality SPF sunscreen. Some women will use a moisturizer containing SPF.
*The most commonly overlooked steps are (2) Moisturizing Serum & (4) Vitamin C Serum. That is why Lifetime Skincare started their company

I know what many readers are thinking. You are looking at this five step routine and saying, "How am I supposed to have time for that in the morning?" The average woman over 40 is getting ready for work, taking care of the kids, or taking care of their husband. In between steps you should allow a few minutes for each serum or moisturizer to dry. So how to you find the time?
Here is the trick ladies...
You have to build your routine into your morning schedule. For example here is mine. After getting out of the shower in the morning I exfoliate my face (Step 1). Right after I pat my skin dry and apply my Hyaluronic Acid (Step 2). Then in my robe I walk out and lay out my clothes for the day. After a few minutes my serum has absorbed and I return to apply moisturizer (Step 3). After I moisturize I get dressed and start a cup of coffee, my cream takes about 2-3 min longer to dry than my Hyaluronic Acid. Then I return to apply my Vitamin C Serum (Step 4). Then I start making breakfast and turn on the news for a few minutes. As I am getting ready to head out the door I using a light coat of my SPF sunscreen (Step 5), and I'm out the door.
Some of you may already be incorporating Hyaluronic Acid or Vitamin C into your routines. If you have you already know the amazing benefits these products can have on your skin.
I don't have 50 skin care products and piles of makeup. I try to pick and choose what products are useful and work best for my skin. The Hyaluronic Acid has balanced out my skin tones, and has given me a softer smoother look and feel. I apply the Vitamin C Serum around my mouth and eyes to fight off wrinkles. I can truly say it has made me more confident going into my 40's.
If you are a women over 40 with wrinkles, age spots, dry skin, or just want to build stronger healthier looking skin I highly recommend Lifetime's products.
